Post-commie nostalgia (1-10)
This one's for all my peeps who lived anywhere in the former East Bloc during the 1990s.
Countries in transition, and these formerly communist countries in particular, produce an abundance of amusing (for expatriates especially) juxtapositions, weird anomalies and terrific idiosyncratic products or systems that usually, and regrettably, give way to Planet Unilever. One such company is the juice-maker Cappy, which I would gulp down by the case in Prague while it was still available (until '92-3 or so). In Bucharest, as you can see, Cappy is still going strong.
